Killington Vermont Breweries
Nestled in the picturesque Green Mountains of Vermont, the town of Killington is a popular destination for outdoor enthusiasts, offering world-class skiing and hiking opportunities. And picturesque golf courses which I’ve enjoyed.
But beyond its natural beauty, Killington also boasts a vibrant craft beer scene, with breweries scattered throughout the area. These are Killington Vermont breweries that I’ve visited and would recommend.
I will also include a few outside of the Killington area, so you can make the most of your time here. What better way to end a great day on the slopes than sampling some local craft beer?
Long Trail Brewing Company
Started in 1989, Long Trail Brewing Company is located in Bridgewater Corners at the junction of Rte. 4 and 100a. They had a great outdoor seating area along the river with mountain views.
They host special events and were setting up for a wedding when I was there. Since it’s such a cool spot, it can get crowded, so you should try to get a reservation.
In addition to its world-class beer, Long Trail also serves delicious food. We ordered a bunch of meals and shared the food – pretzel bites, burgers, fried pickles, and chicken wings.
My wife ordered a sampler of their beers, but I stuck with the Long Trail Double Bag. Also had to swing by the gift shop to grab a hat!
Still on the Mountain – Killington Distillery
Yes, I know this article is about the best breweries in Killington Vermont, but I had to mention the distillery Still on the Mountain. First of all, it is located at The Mountain Inn, with giant windows facing the Killington ski area.
Depending on which season you are there, you get stunning views. And since it is so close to the mountain, it is the perfect spot to hit up after skiing.
The hardest part about going to Still on the Mountain is deciding which cocktail to drink. Seriously, they have some great options, including a Maple Old Fashion made with their Maple Cask Bourbon.
But if you need help picking which cocktail, they offer flights of their signature drinks. But here’s the best part? You can choose which cocktails to sample. We opted to try the margarita sampler and asked to make them spicy – delicious.
Our group split a charcuterie board, which was tasty and perfect for us. We hadn’t planned on staying long, so I would like to go there again and order a dinner next time.
Foley Brothers Brewing
Foley Brothers Brewing is a small brewery on the backroads of Vermont that backs up to a golf course (so you know I appreciate that). Located in Brandon, it is about a 40-minute drive from Killington VT, which is worth it for the beer. Parking can be a little tight, so keep that in mind.
They also have a beer garden in Quechee that is inside of the Quechee Gorge Village Plaza. In addition to beers on tap and canned beers, they also have a food menu.
Regarding the beer, I prefer an IPA, and theirs did not disappoint. My wife opted for the Anniversary Sour Ale, which she enjoyed. Overall, it is a chill brewery with great beer to go along with the views. I know it’s not technically in Killington, but I had to include it as one of the best Killington Vermont breweries.
