Moat Mountain Smokehouse and Brewing Company

Located in a historic building in the North Conway area, Moat Mountain Smokehouse and Brewing has a wide selection of food with its local beer.

It is a popular spot, so be prepared to wait for a table (we opted to sit at the bar). They even have a mug club with all the members’ mugs hanging from the ceiling at the bar.

Since it is a smokehouse, my wife ordered BBQ pulled pork sliders, which she loved, with Miss V’s Blueberry Ale. Personally, I’m not a fruit beer fan, but this one wasn’t too artificial tasting because they only use 90 lbs. of Wild Maine Blueberries (yes, it explains that on the can). I opted for the Cajun burger and the Scottie’s IPA, which is an American India Pale Ale.

In addition to their year-round beers, they also have a rotating selection of seasonal beers. So I tried one of their West Coast IPAs – The Cali 1. (Yes, I’ve been into IPAs lately). Overall, I can see why this local restaurant/brewery is so popular and we even bought some beer to-go.

Sea Dog Brewing Company

With its first location in 1993, Sea Dog Brewing Co. has expanded to locations throughout New England and Florida. It’s on the same main road as Moat Mountain Brewery and Barley & Salt, so you can enjoy your own tasting tour of the valley – a “best North Conway breweries” tour.

Known for its traditional ales and lagers, it also has a full menu, with burgers, sandwiches, and even a steak tip poutine.

Barley & Salt Taphouse and Kitchen

Next up for local restaurants and breweries in North Conway is Barley & Salt. Located in Settlers Crossing in North Conway village, it’s the perfect spot to hit up after a day of shopping (at my favorite Nike outlet).

With over 30 craft beers on tap (be sure to check the website for an updated list), Barley & Salt has a cool atmosphere with modern fusion plates. My recommendation would be to watch the game and enjoy the truffle fries, wings, and diverse lineup of beers. Overall a great place perfect for beer drinkers and foodies alike.

Tuckerman Brewing Company

With its beginnings in a local garage on Main Street in North Conway, Tuckerman Brewing has grown to an indoor tasting room, as well as an outdoor tasting room and beer garden (open seasonally).

Tuckerman’s has expanded its range of brews, presenting a diverse selection of styles that cater to various preferences. From rich stouts to brown ales, refreshing Kolsch to crisp pilsners, and New England Style IPAs and ciders – they’ve got it all.

However, their true claim to fame lies in the renowned Tuckerman’s Pale Ale. With its distinct flavor and smooth character, this North Conway brewery has captured the hearts of many beer fans.

Ledge Brewing Company

Rounding out the list of best North Conway breweries is a taproom that is 5 minutes north in Intervale. Continuing with my sampling of New England IPAs, I opted for the “As You Wish” and my wife tried the “Hive Mind” which features yeast from honeycomb. It was a unique and subtle taste that was refreshing.

And I know you are reading this guide about craft breweries near North Conway, but I need to highlight the tacos here. Yes, inside Ledge Brewing is a taco bar. Even if you are just grabbing some beers, at least try their chips and salsa (you can thank me later).

Another bonus of the craft brewery is that it is located right next to an indoor golf simulator – White Mountain Indoor Golf.
