This cozy cafe in Falmouth serves up delicious American-style breakfast dishes with a twist. You can see the extra care they put into their dishes, with natural ingredients and attention to detail. Their breakfast burrito is a must-try, filled with scrambled eggs, chorizo, cheddar cheese, and avocado.

They also offer a lot of amazing vegetarian options. And don’t forget to take home some homemade pickles – I like the Mexi-cali Carrot and Jalapeño.

Located on Main Street in downtown Falmouth, there are also a few outdoor tables for the summer season. Pickle Jar Kitchen is near local shops if you want to walk around after breakfast.

The Pickle Jar Kitchen is a short walk down the street from Ben’s and Bills Chocolate Emporium if you crave something sweet. Try the lobster ice cream if you are feeling bold.🤪

Best Breakfast in Falmouth MA – Bakeries and Coffee Shops

Now I will highlight the best breakfast in Falmouth MA, which are either coffee/bagel shops or traditional bakeries. These are great if you want your food to go; some let you order ahead.

There are different types of bakeries in Falmouth MA, so you are sure to find one to fit your tastes.

Maison Villatte

Falmouth is home to a premier French bakery that offers the most delicious (and beautiful) pastries. This French bakery in Falmouth offers a wide range of freshly baked pastries, from croissants to macarons.

Their breakfast menu includes classic French dishes like quiche and pain perdu (French toast) and American favorites like avocado toast. The cozy atmosphere at this French bakery makes Maison Villatte a must-visit spot for breakfast in Falmouth.

Maison Villatte is regarded as one of the best French bakeries on the Cape, and people line up before it opens in the morning. But I always take that as a sign the food is worth the wait!

Mary Ellen’s Portuguese Bakery

Mary Ellen’s Portuguese Bakery is the perfect place to satisfy your cravings if you want something sweet. Their homemade pastries and bread are baked fresh daily, and their Portuguese sweet bread is a local favorite. Mary Ellen’s is not as well known to Cape vacationers, so it may not be as crowded as some other spots.

You can sit at the counter and enjoy your breakfast, or order it to-go. I highly recommend trying their Portuguese breakfast sandwich with chorizo – it’s my favorite!

Pie in the Sky Bakery

Danish from Pie in the Sky Bakery in Woods Hole MA
Cherry and blueberry Danish at Pie in the Sky bakery are as big as dinner plates!

Woods Hole’s hugely popular coffee shop provides delicious pastries, breakfast sandwiches, and cinnamon rolls. Woods Hole may be small, but they have great food options, including some of the best waterfront restaurants. If you want to enjoy your coffee by the water, walk behind the restaurant to see the boats and ferry to Martha’s Vineyard.

This hot spot can have long lines between people waiting for the ferry to Martha’s Vineyard and those riding their bikes on the Shining Sea Bikeway. Because of this, they have pre-made breakfast sandwiches if you are in a rush – such a great idea.

Despite being busy, the staff move orders along quickly. Most people relax in the outdoor seating area and chat with neighbors while waiting for food. You can see why this is where people go to get the best breakfast in Falmouth MA.

West Falmouth Market

WFM, as my family calls it, is a great option for those in the West Falmouth area to get a quick breakfast sandwich and coffee. Even though it is technically a “market”, it offers traditional take-out options for breakfast lunch and dinner.

In the morning, they have pastry items from Maison Villatte and coffee from Pie in Sky. It’s close to both the Shining Sea Bikeway and Chappaquit Beach. West Falmouth Market has a few tables and chairs outside if you want to eat there.

There are times you can even order food to be delivered to the beach. (Check this ahead of time – they don’t offer this as much during the busy summer season. But it’s a great idea and highly recommend it.)

The Stand is the sister restaurant to the popular coffee shop The Daily Brew. The menu at The Stand is smaller than The Daily Brew but just as delicious. You can enjoy organic oatmeal, muffins, and smoothies.

My absolute favorite breakfast item is the Rand Bowl – an acai bowl with granola, blueberries, strawberries, banana, and peanut butter. I also recommend their organic iced coffee and iced teas.

The Stand has a small seating area with picnic tables, hammocks, and tables. Perfect for a healthy breakfast in Falmouth MA after a ride on the bike path.
